Although, Despite and However Error Correction
B2 Level
This although, despite and however error correction exercise targets the
mistakes learners make after they understand the basic contrast meaning:
using despite before a full clause,
using although before a noun phrase, and
joining two complete ideas with however incorrectly.
Wrong: "Despite the meeting was long, we reached a decision." Correct: "Although the meeting was long, we reached a decision."
Wrong: "The plan was useful, however it needed more detail." Correct: "The plan was useful. However, it needed more detail."
Because this route asks you to click only the small chunk that needs changing, it trains proofreading rather than simple rule recall. Some sentences are already correct, so you also practise avoiding unnecessary edits to valid patterns such as despite being, although + subject + verb, and sentence-initial However,. This makes the exercise useful for B2 writing, Cambridge First preparation, and cleaner contrast sentences in essays and emails.
